The coming transition to over the air digital TV has a lot of people trying to figure out how best to prepare for it. This transition will effect people who have been relying on over the air terrestrial TV signals in analog format to deliver their TV programming to them because in the beginning of 2009, those signals will be replaced by digital TV signals. Digital TV has the advantages of a clearer picture and higher level of quality of sound than is attainable through analog TV transmission, plus the ability to provide an on screen program guide. However, the catch to digital TV is that it can be displayed on a TV set unless that TV set has an digital tuner.

New video technology is gradually breaking down the barriers between what amateur cinematographers can do and what their amateur counterparts can do when it comes to quality of production. There are a lot of different factors that are contributing to this, but they all come back to higher quality technology becoming increasingly affordable.
